Woodcutters "Ball"

On Saturday, May 22 a number of men and women from the congregation enjoyed a day of good fellowship at the Butterfield home. The initial purpose of the get together was to cut firewood to raise funds for the church. The Stover family had donated a quantity of logs, butts and treetops for firewood to be sold.
Parke Close and Omar Godoy moved the wood to the Butterfield's for the party. Joe Crossgrove, Jim Alexander, Jody Alexander, Roger McOmber, Jeff Harris, Jim Dunn, Jeff Jacobs, Tom Rertz, and Don Shardlow enjoyed the "hospitality" of Carl Butterfield while they cut and stacked fifteen face cord of mixed hardwoods.
Laura Butterfield led the spouses of the woodcutters (Phyl McOmber, Eileen Jacobs, Terri Harris, Beth Cutter, Alice Shardlow) in a lively discussion of creativity. A picnic lunch was provided when the men finished their "workshop." Good fellowship was enjoyed by all.
